Sts. Peter and Paul School at 2160 California Crossroads, California, KY 41007 US - Recycling Programs
Paper Recycling Program
Did you know that 40% of everything in a landfill today is paper? Did you know that the average person in the U.S. generates four pounds of garbage daily (1,460 lbs. per year)? Each year, people in the U.S. throw away enough office and writing paper to build a 12-foot high wall from New York to Los Angeles. Most of this paper ends up as litter. Did you know that you can recycle newspapers, magazines, shopping catalogs, junk mail, office and school papers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at Sts. Peter & Paul School? We have partnered with Abitibi Consolidated, the world’s largest newspaper manufacturer and recycler, to start a paper recycling program. Our School earns money for paper that is dropped off in the green and yellow Abitibi PaperRetriever bins. This is a great way to practice environmental stewardship, reduce landfill waste and raise funds for Sts. Peter & Paul. WE NEED: Newspapers, Magazines, Shopping Catalogs, Office/School Papers, Junk Mail, Envelopes, Fax Paper, Notebooks and Folders. WE CANNOT TAKE: Plastic bags or containers, metal or aluminum cans, glass, bottles, food cartons (cereal boxes, etc.), phone books, cardboard, or trash. Help support your School by visiting the green and yellow bin, which is located near the Social Center at the back of the complex.
Please Note: Shredded paper may be disposed of in the recycling bin as long as it is put into a CLEAR plastic bag. Plastic grocery bags are not acceptable.
Printer Cartridge Recycling Program
Sts. Peter & Paul School recycles empty printer cartridges. Printer cartridges from both home and office can be turned in to the School Office. This is a good way to reduce waste and recycle products, all while helping to raise funds for our School.
